Engineering Manager

Loop Energy is seeking an experienced fuel cell engineering manager to lead design and release of bipolar plates, membrane electrode assemblies, stack hardware, sub-system design and system component design.  This is an excellent opportunity for a highly qualified and motivated engineer to join a diverse team commercializing Loop Energy’s product strategy.

Our company is rapidly expanding as we are in the scale-up process and moving into production.   The anticipated company growth in the coming year will provide our employees with the opportunity for exciting advancement within the company as we move into this next phase in our brand-new facility!

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads D&R of responsible components
  • Responsible for component industrialisation strategies
  • Development of interface design requirements with stack hardware
  • Specification of components and materials including part and assembly drawings
  • Interface with other engineering departments and supplier development
  • Creates and manages schedules and budgets

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • 10+ years of experience component design or similar
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering management/leadership
  • Working knowledge of DFMEA, RED, DFMA, tolerance analysis, GD&T
  • Working knowledge of design verification and validation and ability to incorporate learnings into future designs
  • Application of structured problem-solving methods (8D, 5-whys, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of change management processes
  • Pro-active ability to meet deadlines by delegating and setting priorities
  • Team player with the ability to work in a highly technical and fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Automotive or high volume/low cost design experience
  • Experience with specification engineering and sub-system design
  • Hands-on and practical style
  • Value engineering experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
